I would like to get back to the issue I originally presented which I summarized in the following:
Here's what I'm seeing. I'm seeing the Republicans being more interested in the 2014 and 2016 elections than they are in doing what's best for America today. Let me provide an example.
Last year the Disclose Act was introduced in the Senate which addresses a problem that I have repeatedly stated on other threads where wealthy individuals are donating huge amounts of money to affect the vote. As I've stated I don't have a problem with anyone, regardless of their political opinion or agenda, spending their money to spread that opinion to the American people but I do have a problem with not knowing who they are. This came up in our discussions on 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations that don't disclose their donors. It isn't a partisan issued but instead it's an American issue but it was introduced by Democrats and the Republicans blocked it from advancing in the Senate.
The law would have been a good law requiring all large donors for political activities to be disclosed but the Republicans blocked it because it would have made the Democrats look good to the American people. What we're seeing is that any good legislation being submitted in Congress is immediately opposed by the Republicans because it would make the Democrats look better to the voters in 2014 and 2016. It's all about the "Elections" and not about doing what's right for "Americans" when it comes to how Republicans are acting in Congress. They're on a dedicated campaign to block any legislation that would be good for America if it's proposed by the President or the Democrats because it could adversely affect them in the next election. This has been going on since 2009 when Obama took office and leaders in the Republican Party have actually stated that was their purpose.
The "elections" are taking precedent in the actions of Republican Congressional members and they are not doing the job they were elected to do. With that I have a serious problem.
"In this present crisis, House Republicans are not the solution to our problem, House Republicans are the problem."
