I know this is not American news
But it affects the world. The father of my nation. An example t us all. President Nelson Mandela, has passed away. May the world learn from him. Now and forever

Walking out in the streets is so unreal right now. Everywhere, everyone is crying. Madiba united us in life, and now he unites us in his death. My country mourns a man who made a turn around in his own life, and by this example turned around my people.

His legacy should be lived on through the people. Do not allow his passing change the people who should be living his legacy on. The people need a strong positive leader that looks out for the people, not the one in charge. Remember this for a true democracy is not democratic unless the people are in the hearts of those leading them.

He seemed to me to be a sweet and loving man. God Bless his soul.

You should have heard what the rightists were saying when we were trying to get him out of prison, before they got as soulful as they currently are, wanting to be photographed at the funeral. I remember the filth they wrote on our petition. Lovely people!

To those who've been paying attention, I've recently read an article stating that the westboro baptist church has plans to protest at the funeral of Nelson Mandela. They will be flying to South Africa the day or two prior to the funeral and will protest on the day of his funeral. The risk these people are taking are going to extreme measures and it shows you how much one group can take advantage of rights and make them look bad. To those who are living in south africa, I wish to personally appologize for these people, they're just trying to fit in the world. they don't mean to be so stupid. It's a combonation of ignorance and mistrust that they operate on. We grieve the loss of a great man this day, this week, this month. We will never forget your great leader for he innovated new ways of peace and prosperity within a large community of people. We wish you the best of luck for the future and pray that this one group does not devalue the view of the american people.

I hope they don't come. I spoke out to friends, and said in honour of Mandela, we should what he would have done, welcome them and embarrass them with our goodness, but alas I do not think that will happen. This is South Africa, and they are likely to get hurt if they try their crap here. There is also no way that our police would allow them to do that. Cultural practices in SA dictates that you can not ppicket a funeral, and people will not react kindly to their nonsense.

I hope they don't get treated kindly. They are cruel and evil people. Hardly do I ever say a person or group derserves punishment of death, but these people are a very different case.. I cannot think of any diplomatic way to bring them down. I pray for positive times in the near future.
