It figures that they're idiots because that statement was made in 2009 and not 2013.
We should note that while it has turned out to be false it was not an intentional lie at the time as President Obama believed, as did most people at the time, that the "grandfather" clause in the ACA would prevent existing policies from being cancelled but it didn't take into account that insurance companies might choose to cancel the policies anyway which is what has been happening. The insurance companies aren't being forced into cancelling the private insurance policies because of the ACAbut instead are cancelling them based upon business decisions.
