I was over at PF and happened to check on Subby's profile but apparently he hasn't posted there since late last year. Have any of you heard from him?

On a member's profile page it gives the Last Post Date for the member and his was Dec 2012. Perhaps posts in the staff forum don't show up there but I find that hard to believe.

Out of curiosity do any of you happen to know what the new "appeal" process is at PF? They only have 5 moderators and that isn't really enough for the Formal Appeal Process we established. If just one moderator is absent then it doesn't get a full review. I have a feeling it's based upon the Grand Poo-Bah himself making the call.

Hey.....you might want to refer to Rule #8 here: (8) Other Places DON'T BRING PROBLEMS FROM OTHER PLACES HERE! This is a forum for discussing politics, not for discussing other forums, not for bringing fights, arguments or vendettas from other forums, and not for any kind of plotting against other forums, websites, or anything else for that matter. In private....if you need to talk about it.

This is a forum for discussing politics, not for discussing other forums, not for bringing fights, arguments or vendettas from other forums, and not for any kind of plotting against other forums, websites, or anything else for that matter. In private....if you need to talk about it. Yup. Inevitably other places (and people from them) will get mentioned sometimes - no forum is an island! I added that rule, though, because I don't want the forum to be seen as (or to become) just a place where disaffected people just continue old grudges against other places, or members, or staff from other places, rather than (or even as well as) coming here to discuss politics. The past is the past (no matter where that past might have been), and this is a new forum for everyone who joins to enjoy, regardless of that past. As someone who moderated elsewhere, I know how annoying that 'off forum whinging and plotting' kind of stuff can get sometimes, and I didn't want to create any kind of vehicle for any of that kind of thing, or appear as if I am trying to create any kind of vehicle for any of that kind of thing. We all, I'm sure, have friends (as well as people we are perhaps less friendly with!) at other places, and some of them who are trying to get on with the job of running/moderating them (whether or not we like the way some of them are going about it - that's their business), and I don't want to be responsible for causing them any trouble at those places any more than I want anyone else to be trying to cause trouble for this place. (To answer the original question, though, I can confirm that Subby is certainly active at the other place - the 'last message' date from last year on his profile is, I believe, the date of last Visitor Message on his profile).

I have no problem with the rule and will refrain from any public mentioning of other forums. Of course I would never imply that anyone should drop their membership in another forum. It is up to them individually to find the forum that they believe is the best. A forum should be judged based upon it's merits and let people decide on their own which one they like the most.

Sorry - had to do that! Yes, it appears that the 10 word rule doesn't apply to the admin account. I don't know if I can change that in the setting somewhere, but I don't think it's a really a major 'privilege' to have. Most of the time I need to worry more about maximum word limits than minimum ones anyway!
