He's been overplaying it a little, I think. It's a good result for them, no doubt, holding a seat that can be very marginal and changeable (in UK general elections, it's usually been the only truly 4-way marginal seat that anyone could win), and holding it so well, but I don't think it marks any great sea-change in the wider picture for Plaid. Time will tell, of course, but in Rhun ap Iorwerth I suspect they have found a successful and popular future party leader - he's very well known in Wales, having been a political journalist for BBC Wales for some time, and a very good, high profile and 'trusted' public face for the party.
