Three times my computer have been subjected to the malicious "FBI" malware attacks and it is costly in both time and money to deal with this malware. Emotionally I'd like to see those responsible executed but I don't believe in capital punishment so I've thought of a more appropriate means of justice based upon the protections of the person by the government.
I propose one hour in prison for every hour of time spent by those affected by malware or computer viruses.
In short, by way of example, I believe that far more than 1 million internet users have been hit by the FBI malware attack and if only 1 million people spent one hour dealing with it (we spend much more than that) then the person responsible would be sentenced to about 114 years in prison!!!
If we don't start taking these computer attacks seriously and ensure that anyone caught creating these viruses and malware are sentenced appropriately then they are going to continue. Fines and limited prison sentencing (when they're caught) is obviously having no effect at all so let's make the "punishment fit the crime" where, in almost all cases, they'll never have access to another computer and will never walk freely in society again. Their crimes, in most cases, are far worse than even murder. While they're crimes don't affect one person's life they adversely affect the lives of millions of people where cumulatively it's far greater than the damage they could cause to one person by simply murdering them.
This needs to be eventually addressed under international law but we should start with national laws that impose a punishment equal to the crime.
