So let's look at the facts.
It was Fox (Faux) News (the mouth piece of the Republican Party) that called these "secret" email accounts but none of them were secret. They were personal email accounts and not secret email accounts. Basically Fox News attempts to create a conspiracy that is completely devoid of fact.
Did officials at the EPA use personal email accounts to conduct business? There is no actual evidence they did but Judge Lamberth did grant a court order that grants the Landmark Legal Foundation the authority to find out.
How people can make the jump from the mere possibility of personal email accounts being used to an assumption that they were being used when no evidence exists reflects extreme paranoia. They're creating a conspiracy where no actual evidence exists to support it. We're a long way from finding out if personal (not secret) email accounts were used for government purposes and even further away from finding out if there was any nefarious intent even if it did occur.
Please stop these rightwing conspiracy theories where there is no actual evidence to support them.

It's quite amazing really, how supporters of the Republican party can vilify the present President and idolise the former one when both were and are following the same strategy. Nobody is defending, much less idolizing G. W. Bush because, like you said, Obama has continued or worsened his policies. Which makes one wonder why you liberals keep bringing up Bush like he was worse? Wait... I know. To deflect any criticism against your token hero, Barack. Couldn't be anymore obvious.

You don't get it, do you Shiva? There can be no proof they used personal emails for business because personal email accounts are not part of FOIA. Therefore the fact they have personal email accounts on their hard drive is proof enough there's been a violation of policy. Does Richard Windsor ring a bell?

Was the part in the story missed that Judge Lamberth ordered the disclosure of any private emails that related to government business? If there are private emails where government business was discussed and they are not released then those with these emails will be in criminal contempt of court.
So let's wait and see what comes out because until this plays out it is nothing but a conspiracy theory and nothing more. It's not like the NSA doesn't have a record of these emails if they exist although it says it doesn't have the actual contents of them (cough, cough).

I misread this. They don't have "email accounts on their hard drive" but could have accessed their personal email accounts from work. There is nothing improper with doing this and, in fact, government employees are allowed to access their personal email from work generally with the stipulation that they do it on their own time (e.g. on their lunch breaks) if they're hourly. If they're salary they can access their personal email at any time as they're "always on the clock" in management.
There is nothing whatsoever improper about a person working for the government accessing their personal email from work and never has been.
The only restriction is that they're not supposed to be discussing specific government business they're involved in on their personal email account. For that they're supposed to use their government email account.

As if I really care about Obama.
.and my hero? The man who continues in the steps of his predecessor?
No. The reason I do it is to annoy you!
P.S. This post is intended as a response to SMW but I can't seem to 'qoute' any posts when I reply, so there is either something wrong on the site (sight) or I am even more dense than I believed myself to be.

The "Quote" button is at the upper right of every post. Thanks. Got it now! It seems the quote when large post does not supply sufficient space to see where the reply is and I couldn't work out where it should be.

You mean. . .the man who took us back from the deep hole dug for us by the previous administration? The one who managed to bring the US economy back from the deep recession and managed to maintain it on an upward slope when the other developed countries in the world couldn't do it for their own economy? So. . . President Obama is not superman, or the antichrist . . .he is a MAN who has been elected TWICE by the American people, a man who has done a LOT of good for this county, for the economy, and for our standing in the world. Whether this fact gives you heart burn or not. . .I'm afraid you'll have to live with it for at least another 3 years!

This viewpoint is amazing to me. You have said you want to know who is contributing to Republicans in their 501(c)(4), but you have no problem with government employees doing OFFICIAL business using private emails for the parts of their job they'd rather not have released to the public. That doesn't match up.....except you seem to WANT Dems to be able to hide what they are doing from the public. Then IF there's nothing nefarious going on, they should have no problem turning them over for these investigations so we can have a look-see. It's official gov't business...and they work for us. I want to see what they are hiding.

I want to see what they are hiding. A government employee should not be using their personal email account for official business but so far there is no evidence of this happening.
All that has been found is that government employees used their private email from work which is what they're supposed to do if they're engaged in "private" conversations unrelated to their actual work. They're not supposed to use their government email accounts for "private" purposes. For example if they're contacting their spouse about dinner plans they should be using their private email account and not their government email account.
The judge has granted a court order that will require the disclosure of any private emails that might have contained "official business" in them. We will assume that everyone would comply with such a court order because if they don't they would be in contempt of court and could be imprisoned for it.
The use of private email accounts for personal (not official) business is actually mandatory on every government program that I've worked on. There is no impropriety in these employees accessing and using their private email accounts so long as it wasn't related to official business.
We cannot assume that the private email accounts were used for official business at this point in time.
We will assume that if any official business was conducted by private email that this will be disclosed because of the court order.
The Fox News assumption, or the assumption by anyone, that just because a person used their private email account automatically means they did so for nefarious reasons is completely unfounded. Perhaps they did but until we actually have evidence of such activities then it is purely a conspiracy theory. It is very unlikely that they actually did though because it is such a common practice for all government employees to access their private email from work because they're supposed to for personal, not official, communication with their friends and family.

Ex-EPA administrator Lisa Jackson contacted lobbyist from private emailShe contacted lobbyists in the course of her job using private email. What more evidence do you want?

What more do I want? I want evidence that official business was being conducted in those emails.
Once again I've worked on government programs and often contacted people I knew related to work about private matters such as inviting them to help out with a charity. Many lobbyists are close personal friends with members of government that might have even been co-workers at some point in the past. Just because someone becomes a lobbyist doesn't mean it negates prior personal relationships between people that can be tied to private emails between them.
So what do I want? I want to know what the contents of the email were. What was said because if it didn't related to "government business" then no improprieties have occurred. The judge has ordered that these email be provided so when we find out what's in them then perhaps there is a reason for concern but simply sending someone a private email doesn't imply that any "official business" was being conducted.
Show me what the email said.
As we found out with the Benghazi emails there was no attempted cover-up by the US State Department even though Republicans claimed over and over that this had happened. The CIA wanted to suppress information, not the State Department, and the actual emails revealed this.
So the contents of the emails are what's important and the judge has ordered this disclosure.

So the ultracons want to poke around in peoples' private emails? How unsurprising.
