Hi Everyone. I'm ShivaTD and I just joined.
I'm a card carrying Libertarian interested in addressing political opinions expressed by other members. I'm a member of a couple of other political forums and I'm a former moderator of PoliticalForum.com that has since been retired from that role for about six months.
Have a great day and I hope to see expanding membership in this forum in the near future.
BTW ShivaTD stands for "Shiva The Destroyer" of worlds and was adopted from the Destroyer book series.

So if a 5th of 1/5th of a gallon of liquor is a "12th" one of those little itty-bitty bottles we get on an airliner?

I've already started threads in the Libertarianism forum and would remind others that they are also welcome to address the issues I present from a Libertarian perspective. As noted there I'm a pragmatic Libertarian that knows the ideals of Libertarianism but also knows that ideals represent Utopia and Utopia does not and will never exist. Ideals are great to use as a guide towards a better future but if reality is ignored then real solutions are never offered to real problems.
I will address both the Ideals of Libertarianism as well as pragmatic issues where real life problems need to be addressed and everyone is invited to question me, make comments, offer suggestions, or even provide rebuttal to anything I present. I don't have all of the answers of course but I continue to learn by having my opinions challenged.

Faggot is a difficult one. Over here it means something completely different (the US slang version is well known, of course, but not often used): I would normally eat them with chips (fries) rather than mashed potatoes:  Sometimes you just can't beat going out and picking up some faggots, taking them home, warming them up, pouring some nice thick sauce over them, and then getting them in your mouth!  Having read the previous explanation, you should not have laughed at all at that last sentence, and if you did it's entirely your own fault! Of course, over here a 'fag' means a cigarette, so it's also nice to have a fag after having faggots! |

And I just tossed some fagots onto the fire........... but "faggot" is a derivative of the word "fagot" that has become an anti-homosexual negative slur that could be addressed by the Forum Rules as hate speech. |

LOL, the thread was about a new study that shows college aged women don't like hanging around with promiscuous gals. Can I help it if the title I copied and pasted was, "Why Sandra Fluke Has No Friends." HE said I didnt make enough comment to encourage civil discussion. I've spent the morning pointing out other threads with even less commentary than mine. I don't think he likes me. |
