Obama prepares to "go it alone" without UN sanction, without the British, and without Congressional approval. Back when he was Senator he blasted Bush and his VP, Biden, even said that impeachment proceeding should start for Pres. Bush at the time. EVEN THOUGH, regarding Iraq, Bush had the strong backing of a Majority-controlled Democrat Congress at the time.
President Obama is prepared to move ahead with a limited military strike on Syria, administration officials said Thursday, despite a stinging rejection of such action by America’s stalwart ally Britain and mounting questions from Congress.
"The negative vote in Britain’s Parliament was a heavy blow to Prime Minister David Cameron, who had pledged his support to Mr. Obama and called on lawmakers to endorse Britain’s involvement in a brief operation to punish the government of President Bashar al-Assad for apparently launching a deadly chemical weapons attack last week that killed hundreds.
The vote was also a setback for Mr. Obama, who, having given up hope of getting United Nations Security Council authorization for the strike, is struggling to assemble a coalition of allies against Syria.
But administration officials made clear that the eroding support would not deter Mr. Obama in deciding to go ahead with a strike. Pentagon officials said that the Navy had now moved a fifth destroyer into the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Each ship carries dozens of Tomahawk cruise missiles that would probably be the centerpiece of any attack on Syria.

We saw what happened when Congress abdicated their authority with Iraq. They passed the buck and when the going got hard, they finger-pointed instead of accepting responsibility. Some of them truly deserted our troops when the war became unpopular. But is this another wag the dog? What the *love* is going on?

Some of them truly deserted our troops when the war became unpopular. But is this another wag the dog? What the *love* is going on? You are exactly right! Yes, Congress, including most all Democrats, gave Bush approval to go into Iraq and were, in fact, firmly behind his doing so. Then 18 months later as it got tougher than they thought it was going to be, the Dems did a 180 and abandoned ship. The thing about Syria......we have no idea what this could lead to. I doubt very seriously Syria, Russia, china, or Iran.....not to mention Al Qaeda who we would be actually helping, will stand by and NOT retaliate AGAIN. So, then it becomes a show of muscle one after the other from each side and only escalates. I think it's horrible what Syria did....using gas on its own people including all those children, but I'm just not sure this "limited" operation is going to resolve anything.

Kerry was just on tv and sounded SO DESPERATE. Point is, though, the president has botched this from the very beginning. He's made a mockery of himself and our country. This is a clear instance of failure of leadership. Obama was never qualified to be president and has not surrounded himself with those who could advise him properly. Someone who is all about "politics" should not be president....and I hope those who have put him in have learned a hard lesson.
In addition, why is it no one is asking where these wmd's came from? Why is no one asking if it could be the same wmd's that Saddam moved out of Iraq back in early 2003? If I recall Senator Obama was very much against Iraq....even though Saddam Hussein had used gas on his people and the Kurds. Unfortunately, I think every decision Obama makes is about politics and not doing what is right for the country. He's too inconsistent on these issues. When Bill Clinton used bombs to supposedly degrade Saddam's arsenal in the late 90's, it didn't work. What makes Obama think this will work or achieve anything.....other than to save face for himself?

Don't know how this will go. But I do know that it's not political on the part of the Congress as this Democrat Congresswoman proves:
-- Rep. Janice Hahn, D-California, said she took a red-eye flight to attend a classified briefing on Syria in Washington Sunday. "I'm taking this very seriously. ... I wanted to see the facts. We've read classified documents. We've had a classified briefing. And the case is trying to be made that this use of chemical weapons puts our national security at risk and it's worth acting," she told reporters. "I don't know if every member of Congress is there yet. I'm not there yet."
They are not going to do it just to save face for Obama... They are not going to do it to save integrity for our country; that's already suffered damage and a bombing of bases and not the chemicals themselves, doesn't really fix anything. They might think they need to try. But I'm not so sure it would work.
I hope the CIC has learned a hard lesson about going off with "red line" comments that sounded like threats....and then doesn't act. Can't even decide. We've had 5 reversals by the president!!! He doesn't know what he's doing. He is NOT a leader. He is in WAY OVER HIS HEAD. And I fear for my country......
