Sarah Palin joins Ted Cruz, confederate flag, as new face of shutdown

Sarah Palin, God bless her self-serving media savvy. As if the Republican party didn’t have enough troubles, Palin today emerged alongside Ted Cruz as the new face of the GOP government shutdown.
Yes, there really is a God.
Palin joined GOP Tea Party Senator, and shutdown leader, Cruz and other Tea Party supporters of the GOP’s shutdown of the federal government in a “million vet march” to protest the fact that the government has actually been shut down.
Point of fact: Neither Palin nor Cruz have actually served in the military, and both support the GOP government shutdown which closed the WWII memorial. But don’t let that get in the way of a good visual.
Palin on the shutdown not two weeks ago:
“Let government chill for a little bit.”
Palin said Republicans should not “fear some kind of government shutdown.” She then emphasized that Republicans must “stand firm,” “not blink,” and not “allow the media to drive this whole narrative” that a shutdown would be bad for Republicans.
Palin said that a shutdown would allow the American people to realize “how irrelevant the federal government could and should be in our lives.”
And now she’s leading a protest of the shutdown she supported.
Adorable.
Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz (bottom right) lead "veterans" in protesting the Republicans own shutdown of the government.
Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz protest government shutdown they supported
“Veterans” – basically Tea Partyers – led by Palin and Cruz, marched today on the World War II memorial in Washington, DC, stole the National Park Service’s protective barriers, and then threw them at the White House.
This was intended to show their ire over the fact that the World War II memorial, along with every other federal land, site, office and program, was closed once the GOP shut down the federal government in the hopes of extorting the President into defunding health care reform, aka Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act.
The Tea Party “vets,” led by Palin and Cruz, are apparently so outraged at themselves for shutting down the federal government, that they’re now protesting the President for listening to them.
Tea Party protesters also concerned about Obama being a Muslim
According to CNN, the Tea Party protesters gathered at the White House are also very concerned that President Obama is a Muslim:
One speaker went as far as saying the president was a Muslim and separately urged the crowd of hundreds to initiate a peaceful uprising.
“I call upon all of you to wage a second American nonviolent revolution, to use civil disobedience, and to demand that this president leave town, to get up, to put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come out with his hands up,” said Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch, a conservative political advocacy group.
Fox’s Brit Hume is quite upset that Politico’s Ben White appears to have a brain
Of course, leave it to Fox News to come to the defense of today’s contradictory Tea Party protest against the very shutdown policy the Tea Party championed.
It all began with a tweet from Politico’s Ben White:
Well, that didn’t sit well with the GOP propaganda headquarters over at Fox:
Fortunately, Ben was unphased – if not amused – by the attention he was receiving from the GOP mother ship:
Were Hume and Fox only as obsessed with the truth.
Confederate flag was right at the front of the Tea Party WWII memorial protest
Here’s a video of the throng throwing the Park Service gates at the White House:
Yes, that’s exactly what you thought you saw at the end of that video. The Palin-Cruz Tea Partyers are allied with southern confederate flag-waving racists:
Tea Partyers, led by Sarah Palin. Ted Cruz and southern racists waving the confederate flag, throw metal fences at the White House gates to protest the GOP shutdown of the government.

It’s a funny way to “respect our vets,” carrying the flag of an enemy that created even more American vets.
Some lead conservatives were equally unimpressed:
“Perhaps,” as Peter Sylwester noted on Twitter, “the Confederate flag mob will move next to reopen the Lincoln Memorial.”
That would be fun.
Also note the typo that was clumsily corrected on the sign above – it used to read “Repect our Troops.”
Interestingly, Palin, Cruz and the Tea Partyers are holding no such protests to fight the shutdown of clinical trials for cancer patients, or the cut-off of death benefits for family members of US troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan during the GOP shutdown.
Then again, this was never about real people for the GOP.
It never is.
