I decided to present the Republican Party platform position on Health Care to see if it would generate some comments and proposals from those that call themselves "Republicans" on this forum.
A political platform plank is a statement of principle (list of goals) and is not a specific proposal. Proposals are intended to provide the means for accomplishing the established goals of the "Plank" in the platform.
The goals of the plank are listed in the first sentence. This is a "positive" statement establishing "this is what we support."
The second sentence doesn't create goals but is a statement of opposition or "limitation" upon what is acceptable to achieve the goals. This is a "negative" statement establishing "this is what we oppose."
I'm interested in how the "positives" are to be accomplished so have there been any proposals by the GOP to accomplish all of these goals and if so what are they? I simply haven't read these proposals if they exist and I have looked for them. How, for example, is the goal of ensuring quality health care for all Americans to be achieved under this political platform plank?
