As most know the World Politics Forum has only existed for a couple of days and every new member is welcome. We know that every new member brings with them their personal political opinions and beliefs that will unquestionably be unique and diversified. We're all concerned with politics, we each have our own views on political issues, and we all welcome the expression of those with other political beliefs.
From my own perspective being a participant in a political forum is not about "converting" someone else to my beliefs but instead it's about my ability to present compelling arguments for my beliefs. This is a challenge that requires me to investigate the foundation for my own beliefs and, not surprisingly, in rare cases I've actually found out I was wrong based upon these investigations and I've changed my own beliefs.
What I would like to encourage is for new members to introduce themselves. We are very small and I'd consider all of us to be the Founders of the World Politics Forum. It is upon our backs that this forum will survive and thrive so each one of us is important. Our "Fearless Leader" created this forum but I'm relatively sure he believes that ultimately World Politics Forum belongs to the members.
So say Hello and let is use the diversity of our political opinions to be the foundation of this forum. It's not our similarities but our differences that will make the World Politics Forum a success.

Our "Fearless Leader" created this forum but I'm relatively sure he believes that ultimately World Politics Forum belongs to the members. He does indeed. Ultimately, it's the members that make a forum, and administration and moderation is only there to allow them to do it. My 'job' here is just to provide a platform for free, open and civil debate, which has always been something very important to me. I believe that people (wherever they are, and wherever they come from) need to be able to discuss their own political opinions, whatever those might be - political opinion the world over has become too driven by the agendas of politicians themselves, media sensationalism and 'soundbites', and the opinions of the big businesses and big businessmen who own the big media companies. The people need to be allowed to think for themselves, and express, discuss, listen to and challenge their own opinions and the opinions of others without the interference of any 'authority' or 'powerful interest' trying to push the debate in a certain direction to suit themselves. This forum belongs to the members, and it is for them to decide what they want to discuss and how they want to discuss it - I'm only here to provide that platform, and to try to keep some sort of reasonable order so that everyone can do so in a civil and respectful atmosphere, without being insulted, silenced or shouted down by anyone else who might not want them to say what they think. It's not our similarities but our differences that will make the World Politics Forum a success. Absolutely. The more different opinions the members have to debate, the better the forum can be.
