But if anyone says, "Yeah but." All the yeah buts will have been covered. There is something to be said for verbosity. I write "manufacturing instructions" for building airplanes and something I've learned over time is that the technicians only read the first paragraph. With that in mind we have to cover numerous engineering specification requirements (that the technicians are all certified to perform) so I dump those in after the first paragraph for documentation purposes knowing that they won't be read anyway.

There is something to be said for verbosity. And as you can probably imagine, I have quite alot to say about verbosity!

Dang, nobody even said hi to me. This 10 word thing is bull*fairy dust*. Can't it be changed? I did (in your thread), but hi again! The 10 word minimum can be changed if people feel it's too much, but I wanted to try to set it at a level that discouraged very short posts, partly because they are often (not always, but often) the least contributory posts when it comes to actual discussion, and partly because it cuts out alot of the spam posts that tend to invade forums. I know it can be a bit of a pain in 'hello' threads, but easy enough to add a few more words to to get past it - as I said, though, it's something I'll keep under review, and I can reduce it if people think it's too much.
